CLOSINGS AND DELAYS:

Lakota Locals Schools and Fort Thomas School District are both open despite power outages.

"We wanted to make you aware that we are currently experiencing a power outage at our building. Partial power went out close to arrival time and we experienced a full power outage within the last 30 minutes. Duke Energy is working to restore power as quickly as possible," Plains Junior School Principal Kim Wade said. "We are prepared to handle power outages and have been operating as usual"

In a Twitter exchange, Fort Thomas Schools Superintendent Karen Cheser said it's not an ideal situation.

"There are tough decisions to make that aren’t taken lightly-much to consider. Our primary concern was the safety of our students and not going home to homes with no one there and no heat and honestly, we thought the power would be on by now," Cheser said.
